OTR App

OTR is one of the largest petrol and convenience store chains in Australia with over 160 sites across South Australia and Victoria. Many OTR outlets operate alongside other brands such as Subway, Wok in a Box, Oporto, Hungry Jack’s, Guzman y Gomez and Krispy Kreme. Working alongside our talented creative director and lead developers, I was tasked with developing interactive wireframes and then applying initial design concepts to create a simple, modern and scalable UI that allows customers to pre-order and gift coffees, subs, burgers, supermarket and other items as well as earning rewards and paying for fuel directly from their car – all this before COVID and our obsession with ‘contactless’ service!

Given the complexities involved, clear and ongoing communication amongst the team and with the client was crucial. I produced animations to explain the UI to client, shareholders and developers. Using InVision to maintain a functioning full-featured prototype as the project progressed kept the workflow agile and ensured the complex build ran as smoothly as possible.

The app launched in July 2017 and now has hundreds of thousands of active users and a consistently high app store rating.
