Over the last 2 years, the Department for Innovation and Skills has been developing a high-level strategy to position South Australia as an epicentre of R&D, innovation and entrepreneurial excellence. As a key part of an overarching communication strategy, the team was tasked with designing and developing an online content platform to further this innovation narrative through video case studies and informative content about South Australia’s innovation ecosystem.
Armed with detailed user analysis, wireframes and a top-level creative concept, I set about designing a responsive components-based UI system in Figma with a focus on user engagement and accessibility. To ensure consistency in the rollout of the project, I put together a UI kit for the developers specifying colours, typography and iconography, as well as a library of UI components such as buttons, input forms and controllers in all required states.
