Wedding Planner: Perfect Match is a freemium match-3 mobile game that blends satisfying gameplay with an engaging narrative, currently released in soft launch on Google Play and the App Store. As the Lead UI Artist, I managed a team of 2–3 designers and directed every aspect of the UI process—from ideation and high-fidelity mockups to hands-on implementation in Unity.
I developed a comprehensive modular UI system that streamlined component design across all screens. The design incorporated a balanced mix of vibrant, wedding-inspired visuals while ensuring high usability and quick readability essential for casual mobile players.
Throughout the project, I was directly responsible for designing and implementing both visual effects and animations to enhance the player experience. This included the match-3 particle effects, reward sequences and screen transitions. This hands-on approach enabled us to incorporate polished transition effects and subtle, engaging particle effects. These visual enhancements contributed significantly to the player experience by providing immediate and delightful feedback during interactions.
Collaborating closely with game designers and engineers, I addressed challenges such as designing for multiple gameplay flows and ensuring the scalability of our UI elements across various devices. I introduced navigational structures and reusable prefabs, which helped reduce iteration time and enabled efficient content updates in a live environment.
The impact of our work is reflected in consistent 4.8+ star ratings during soft launch, with players praising the clarity, polished aesthetics, and engaging animations. This experience not only solidified my expertise in end-to-end UI design within Unity but also provided valuable opportunities for me to develop my leadership in a collaborative environment.
